” A Museum Without A Roof”
so called Gyeongju as the whole city is filled with national treasures of Korea
Roughly 30 minutes away by car from Pohang and 15 minutes away from Gyeongju lies a quiet space where both a restaurant and a cafe sit. It’s a really quiet spot up a hill and features some lovely architecture coupled with many modern interior fittings.
The Bosque Restaurant serves fusion pasta and pizza that are relatively inexpensive and delicious. After eating at the restaurant, if you show your receipt to the cafe you will get a 10% discount on your orders. This was true in February 2022 so hopefully, they will not change their policy.
The restaurant on the first floor is beautiful and it makes good use of the natural lighting via its glass walls to illuminate the place. The staircase leads to the second floor, usually open for private functions and events but I was allowed a peek since there was nothing going on that day.
Next door, the cafe has a total of 3 floors with a great view of the vast plains around it. What intrigued me most was the architecture surrounding the cafe and how each pillar and each wall seemed to create an imperfect but curious detail that made the entire structure interesting to look at.
It did not help that they had a wide variety of mouthwatering bread and pastries laid out in front of me. I was too full to enjoy any of those bread but if I go there again in the future I will definitely save some space for some pastries.
If you’re heading to Pohang or Gyeongju and would not mind heading there via public transport or a car, it’s definitely a great place to spend an afternoon.
